Own Art

Own artOwn Art, and Own Art Plus are membership schemes for galleries.  They offer clients the opportunity to spread the cost of a purchase over ten months using an interest free loan of up to either £2,500 in the case of Own Art, or from £2,500 to £25,000, in the case of Own Art Plus for higher value works.  Own Art is supported by funding from Arts Council England, Creative Scotland and Arts Council of Northern Ireland. Own Art Plus is a developed product that is independent.  The aim of both schemes is to make the purchase of fine art accessible to all by:

  • making buying and collecting art more affordable for everyone
  • inspiring first time buyers of contemporary art and craft
  • supporting contemporary artists and the galleries that represent them by encouraging increased sales of work across a breadth of practice.

How it Works

  1. Loans are available from as little as £100 up to £2,500 with Own Art, or from £2,500 to £25,000 with Own Art Plus
  2. The amount borrowed is then paid back over 10 months interest-free.  The client pays no fees or charges at all
  3. No deposit necessary
  4. Loans can be used as part payment towards a higher priced item
  5. Several lower value items can be included in one Own Art, or Own Art Plus loan to the value of £2,500, or £25,000 respectively
  6. Framing and delivery costs can be included
  7. More than one loan can run concurrently
