Mike Bell

Michael graduated from Brighton Polytechnic with an honours degree in visual communication before forging a successful career in the music industry as a production designer and music video director. He now divides his time between painting, lecturing, and screenwriting.

He draws inspiration from both the land and the sea, and in particular the coastal stretches of southern England.

He says

"I'm interested in memories and half-remembered imagery, and how we create the pictures of our past from a less than conscious recollection. I use landscape as a starting off point for most of my work and record the memory not the image, allowing time for reflection before beginning a painting."

Mike's paintings have been exhibited widely throughout the south of England, and he is now attracting private commissions and the attention of serious art collectors.
