Julie Collins, born 1962 in the Isle of Man studied BA Hons, Art at University of Reading 1980-84, where she was taught by Sir Terry Frost, Anthony Frost, Richard Wilson and Anish Kapoor.

Statement 2011

My work is created in a series, working with mixed media, handmade papers and canvas. The paintings gradually emerge from subtle layers of paint, paper and colour. They begin from a passion for painting, drawing and making and here I create an impression rather than an actual view.
