Clive Jebbett
Price range: £850 - £6,000
Clive Jebbett, born 1951 in North London, attended Colchester School of Art. Clive has exhibited his work widely since the early 1970's with a period in the 1980's where he concentrated on photography. Returning to painting in 1998, he has continued to show his work regularly which can be found in both public and private collections across Europe, Canada and the United States of America.
A strong sense of familiarity with Clive's paintings is shared through the ambiguity of subject, time and place, which often strikes an emotional connection with its audience.
Not necessarily painted with an intended allegory, Clive Jebbett works with a concentration on the geometry of the composition, the shapes within it, the finish of the texture of the painting's surface and the play of light within the painting. It is his attention to the manipulation of the light and focus of a composition that Clive particularly masters, using these elements as tools to surprise and delight the viewer.
First solo exhibition with Bath Contemporary March 2012.
